Congratulations, Sam on your first publication. I’m glad you reached out to the group. I’m sure it wasn’t easy to ask Teri for help. And it is an act of courage. I wish you further successes in your writing journey.
Sam, your story is so beautiful!!! I got all of the full-body chills when I read that Teri Leigh replied back and was already thinking of you for a scholarship. 🙏 That is beyond beautiful. Thank you for being courageous, and asking for help. You're inspiring me. Asking for help is soooo hard for me. 💕
Once upon a time I was that girl who never asked for help. Partly because there was a time when I did ask for help and no one helped, so I learned to do it myself, and partly because when I asked for help and people did help, they didn’t help the way I wanted them to help and it was just easier to do it alone. But then, when I realized that I was asking the wrong people to do the wrong things. I started paying attention to who was offering to help and what they were offering to help with, and then keeping track of that in my mind so that when I did need help, I knew who to ask for what. Everything fit. Wow…did I just say all that? And did it make sense? I hope so. It typed out faster than my brain really was thinking.
Thanks so much Megan! I got full-body chills too when that happened!
I have gotten better at asking for help over the years, as suggested by many a coach and therapist. What is really interesting is the hard part now is the receiving of the help. I have to remind myself that I am worthy to receive.
Hi Sam. I'm so happy you discovered Teri through the webinar we did together. She's awesome. And thanks for following me and my affirmations! Happy New Year!
Thank you! Your presence here means so much. Keep writing.
Thanks for contributing @Glee Devereaux - I read your name to my Hobbit the other day and we both thought “Gleed Ever OH!”
Honored by your words and your presence here too! So much gratitude for your continued support 💗

That did make sense and I am letting that sink in.
Agree with Sam, it makes sense, and I'm letting it sink in, too. 💕

oh yeah…asking ad actually receiving are two very distinct steps in the process. You can ask and still not receive. Duh.
Have you read “The Power of Receiving” by Amanda Owen? Brilliant book about both asking and receiving.
And, there is a whole month of The Creator Retreat dedicated to the balance of giving and receiving and learning how to accept help and support.
Omg — BINGO!!! There’s totally a part 1 and part 2… you’re sooo right, RECEIVING is also hard. 😅 But, talking about it helps. 💕
Right! I really appreciate your contribution to this topic!
